Robotics Kick-off

It's that time of year again! As we begin our two week Christmas break, our minds are filled with “visions of sugar plums” and of course thoughts of the FIRST Robotics build season to come. Students have been busy prototyping a potential six wheel drive train and working with this year's new control platform. The end result is a very controllable robot chassis using a wireless networking interface. It is very rewarding to see the excitement on their faces as they realize the success of their early efforts.
Attend the NASA web cast kickoff with us on Saturday January the 3rd beginning at 10am in the auditorium at Korah Collegiate. At this time, the new challenge will be unveiled and the team will have 6 weeks to design, build and test the new robot!

Christmas Concert 2008

Concert band and Korah Korahsters perform at the Christmas concert for 2008.

MUSTANG SALLY AT ST. BERNADETTE'S CATHOLIC SCHOOL

Mustang Sally had the good fortune to be invited to promote character attributes, in their own style, to St. Bernadette students and staff, with many thanks to Mr. Cerra, the principal who made arrangements to host us. Their month's highlight was the beatitude that reads: "Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land. "To complement the beatitude, Mustang Sally focused on the importance of respect and responsibility to oneself, loved ones, friends, neighbours, the community, and our country. The character education day took the form of a musical performance in the morning, singing Christmas songs, discussing character attributes, and informing students about the instruments each band member plays. In the afternoon performance, Mustang Sally presented its own brand of music and students and staff shared in the celebration of music in life. Thanks to all of the students and staff at St. Bernadette's for their generosity. Thanks especially to Mr. Cerra for having such an inclusive spirit and for his speech at the end of our performance – it touched our hearts.

Character Education Day at East View Public School

December 4th was Character Education Day at East View Public School.Students at the school welcomed Mustang Sally warmly. Many stopped by the gym in the morning when Mustang Sally was setting up and helped with the sound check by singing some Christmas songs. Mustang Sally musicians visited grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 to discuss character attributes and high school life. Mustang Sally's afternoon musical performance was opened by East View's own rock band. East View staff and students put in a joint effort and were rocking down the house in the afternoon. Many stayed at the end of the day to get autographs from Mustang Sally musicians. Thanks to Mr. Bodnar, staff and students for such a warm welcome.
